yearning
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.

my favorite part about high fashion is the complete non sexualization of breasts. like in any other situation besides breast feeding woman’s breasts are seen as sexual objects, but in high fashion it isn’t. it isn’t meant for the male gaze, a see through top isn’t for what’s underneath but simply the aesthetic of the look. I’m not really sure how to explain it but it makes me very happy to see
the amount of people that think these aren’t art forms angers me
and film.
and culinary
and fashion design
Y’all celebrating the beauty of vitiligo now in fashion culture and I think that’s wonderful, it’s about damn time because everyone is beautiful. BUT WHERE THE MOTHERFUCKING HELL WERE YOUR ASSES WHEN MICHAEL JACKSON SUFFERED FROM IT?
Oh that’s right, i remember now: Tellin, sellin, and believin the lies about dye creams and shit when he straight up told you it was a medical disease in his family which was none of your damn business in the first place. Yeah, I see you. Back the fuck up. -_-
People didn’t support Michael Jackson because he never showed his vitiligo to the world. MJ hid his vitiligo from the public, so people couldn’t figure out if he even had it. There was shows where journalists and a full audience would question if Michael Jackson was telling the truth about suffering from vitiligo. It was a huge deal when MJ’s skin starting turning white before the public’s eyes… Of course we now know that MJ definitely wasn’t lying when he said he had vitiligo because of photographs, videos, and his autopsy report.
Also, I’m sure most people would’ve been calling MJ’s vitiligo
beautiful if MJ actually showed the world his vitiligo. How were people
supposed to embrace something they couldn’t see? Can you blame people for being curious about a black man’s skin turning white? Especially when it’s the most famous black man on the planet? I don’t think so.
Not to mention the time period when his skin started to change in the public. No one knew what the hell vitiligo was so their first instinct was to assume something as outrageous as skin bleaching and/or the notion that Michael wanted to be something he wasn’t. I don’t completely excuse the press/public but you know. I talked to people who were fans of him back in the day and they couldn’t think of any reason of why his skin was changing except that he must have been doing something to change it. That’s one thing I can never understand. Why didn’t he address it? Why didn’t anyone just ask him? I don’t know.
I really doubt the public would’ve “embraced” or called MJ’s vitiligo “beautiful” in the 80’s or early 90’s. That’s just the cold hard truth. Not to mention the controversy surrounding him, it would have just demonized his illness, making it more dehumanizing. Oh, and he publicly addressed the illness in his ‘93 interview with Oprah. Then in ‘95 Diane Sawyer acted like she hadn’t a clue, she, A JOURNALIST, couldn’t do the tiniest bit of research into what this “skin condition” was he was referring to. It seemed like people just weren’t willing to accept it, and I really don’t understand why.
You all have valid points but the real question is
Why do people still think and say he wanted to be white?
You have access to all the pictures and all the information you could want possibly want and need. Do some research.
Another woman’s beauty is not the absence of your own
This is something I really need to remember.
Even when I see a beautiful woman, I think ‘Aw, her life must be amazing’. Everyone does it. That’s human nature to believe that beauty is everything.
